BRIEF HISTORY
Horacio Dela Costa Elementary School was named after the Jesuit priest, nationalist, historian professor and a writer, Father Horacio Dela Costa. Building a community for low-income families was his legacy. After his death in March 20, 1977 his best chum, Mr. William J. Keyes, former priest continues his legacy.
 
The pilot community of Horacio Dela Costa Homes II where the school was located and built in 1990 with an approximately land area of 2, 076 square meters.
To ease the burden of low-income families in sending their kids in school is the reason why Mr. Keyes included in his plan to build the school within the community. It is a two-storey building with 14 classsrooms (7 classrooms in each floor).
 
During that year the school was both the annex school of Amparo Elementary and High School. The second floor was occupied by third and fourth year. The ground floor classes for the Grades 1 to Grade 6 were held.
 
It was year 1992, the school earned his independence from Amparo Elementary and High School.
 
In 1994 Mrs. Ruth Pasco, the second principal initiated the inauguration of the school turned over of the school.
 
Congressman Roberto S. Guanzon built another school building to accommodate the fast growing population of the school beside the original building but continued its construction under the regime of Congressman Enrico “Recom” Echiverri. Another school building was built by Congressman Oscar “Oca” G. Malapitan.
